About DreamCast Productions
Dream Cast Productions is a family-owned and operated company, founded in 2014 by Jermaine Cherry. It operates in excellence with cast and crew, while addressing real-life topics through the eyes of faith, comedy and drama. DCP seeks to transport audiences to a place of healing and hilarity through the ministry of the performing arts. DCP has produced four original stage plays thus far and has performed over twenty shows.
Founder/ Writer / Producer
Jermaine is a native of Ahoskie, NC and now resides in Raleigh, NC with his wife Shakia
and daughter Kristi. He attended Hertford County High school and afterwards enrolled in Roanoke Chowan Technical College where he studied business and developed his love for poetry and writing. While enrolled at RCTC, Jermaine put on two productions “Poetry from the Heart” Part 1 and later “Poetry from the Heart” Part 2 Rhyme, Reason, and Reality. This ultimately transformed into a successful specialty greeting card company, “Visions of a Poet”, started by Jermaine, his wife Shakia and her mother Patricia Foye. Dream Cast Productions was birth out of Visions of a Poet in 2014. DCP’s first production was January 2015 entitled “Lord Who Am I”, a play that sold over 700 hundred tickets. Jermaine always had a love for the stage and writing plays. His motto is “If you are passionate about something and willing to work for it you can have it”. Whatever the mind of man can believe without doubt, the mind of man can achieve. Jermaine also believes that with Jesus all things are possible, and nothing is impossible.
Chief Financial Officer / Producer
Shakia is originally from Wiesbaden Germany but now resides in Raleigh.
She is married to Jermaine Cherry and they have one daughter Kristi. Shakia attended Wake Technical College and JY Monk Real Estate School. Shakia enjoys seeing people healed and given hope through DCP productions. Before getting involved in theatre she was Vice President of Visions of a Poet Inc., which was a specialty greeting card company that she, Jermaine and her mother (Patricia Foye) started. Shakia knew at that time the cards were just a stepping stone to where they were going. She has always been involved with the Drama Ministry within the church. She is amazed to see things come to life through the arts and it gives her joy to work in this capacity. Shakia’s motto is
“It doesn't matter where you‘ve been, it only matters where you’re going."
Chief Operations Officer / Producer
Patricia is a partner with the family-owned and operated Dream Cast Productions, LLC.
She is currently the President of Wake County Extension & Community Association (NCECA) for Wake County, the financial secretary for Lockhart High School Alumna Association (LHSAA) and Ministry Leader of the Food Pantry and Clothing Closet Care Ministry for New Bethel Baptist Church, Rolesville, NC.
